Three companies with complementary technological and market expertise and four health care providers with key access to end users and infrastructure collaborating to implement the project results into the existing medical infrastructure.
Sanolla Ltd.
Sanolla LTD., Israel, was founded in 2016. The founders, Dr. Doron Adler and David Linhard, are experts in medical devices and technology holding multiple academic degrees in science and business administration. Two serial entrepreneurs with a portfolio of over 130 patents and accumulated 40 years of experience in engineering, development and management of sophisticated medical devices. Most of Sanolla team worked together as part of Cbyond (Olympus subsidiary in Israel). When Cbyond was voluntarily liquidated part of the engineering staff joint Sanolla; each one of the engineers has more than 15 years of relevant experience, comprising a team of dedicated professionals, fully devoted to delivering the company’s leading product – PyXy – into the market.
Contribution to the project:
Sanolla’s main interest is to mature PyXy, validate the device together with other consortium partners and bring it to the market. As the hardware technology enabler, the main contribution is related to PyXy, but as project coordinator, Sanolla will have a strong focus on leading the consortium partners to achieving project objectives and reaching milestones within defined schedules.
Rudolf Riester GmbH
Founded in 1948 in Jungingen, Germany, Rudolf Riester GmbH was acquired by Halma plc in 2007. Contribution to the project:
Riester is the principal commercialization partner of this project and brings a deep experience and extensive network serving the long-term care markets in many of the targeted countries, therefore main contribution will be related to WP5.
Medsensio AS
Medsensio AS is a limited liability company founded in Norway in 2017. Main focus area is machine learning expertise with a consortium and license agreement with the University of Tromsø. Medsensio has access to the world's largest dataset of lung sounds collected and annotated as part of Tromsø Study 7. Medsensio is granted exclusive access to the technology, lung / heart sounds dataset, and results of the research conducted under the Tromsø Study. This can be used for commercialization of a training tool and for medical device. The agreement has delayed royalty fees, and includes options to expand the license into new markets. They have brought a training tool to market, using the platform for lung sound analysis, aimed for medical training of current and future health professionals. It is currently integrated into nearly 100 schools with 3000 users.
Over the last year the company has worked on applying its platform with AI algorithms for lung sounds analysis in a clinical practice, with particular focus on chronic patients and decision support to less experienced health professionals.
Contribution to the project:
AI and software are the main contribution area for Medsensio which also aligns with company’s expertise. As for the realization of the project results, Medsensio will work closely with Sanolla in what concerns the joint product composition and potential further developments, while interactions with Riester will focus on the commercialization aspects of the AI and software components.
Helgeland Hospital (Helgelandssykehuset HF)
Helgeland Hospital Trust (connected to nursing homes Gruben and Selfors) is located at Mo i Rana, Mosjøen, Sandnessjøen and Brønnøysund, serving about 78 000 people from 18 municipalities and providing 140 000 polyclinical consultations a year (2019). The hspital provides specialist health services in the field of general medicine, mental health and substance abuse. We have three hospitals in three cities, as well as the District Medical Center in Brønnøysund. Helgeland is a costal district, with many islands having no road connections to mainland, which affects about 8000 people. Many patients had to be transported to the hospital, which is demanding under the pandemic. Likewise, there are several nursing homes comprising elderly patients being a high-risk patient group during COVID-19.
Contribution to the project:
Throughout this project the hospital aims to build up new R&D competence, stimulate innovation to develop more efficient care services to be delivered to their patient population in a more sustainable way. The hospital will provide resources from the Research and Innovation team, Brynjar Andreassen, pulmonologist at Mo i Rana, will be involved with clinical coordination at Selfors and Gruben nursing homes.
PhilonMed GmbH
PhilonMed is a SME founded, owned and managed by medical doctor Tobias Gantner. As a subsidiary company to HealthCare Futurists GmbH, they lead as a think and make tank specializing in strategic consulting for innovation processes, ideation, business creation, matchmaking and beyond. The modus operandi of the company is the large network of customers and partners globally positioned allowing for diverse applications and international experience within telemedicine, AI, VR, XR, and additive manufacturing for the future of entrepreneurial innovation.
Standing for the democratization of healthcare, HealthCare Futurists have literally brought digital health to the people with the HealthCare MakerMobil, the first fully digital no-doctor offices and provide opportunities to tackle real healthcare challenges with patients, families and health professionals at their hackathons.
Contribution to the project:
PhilonMed will contribute to the clinical validation, logistical management and oversite of WP1, provide insight for software development and usability (WP3), integration and demonstration, in particular for patient assessment at home in each of the countries (WP4), as well as engagement in dissemination (WP5) and project management activities (WP6).
BeneVit Holding GmbH
BeneVit is an owner-managed service company for the care of the elderly and people in need of assistance. Founded in 2004, the BeneVit Group currently operates 26 nursing homes, four day care facilities and services up to 700 ambulatory clients - altogether 2.300 clients all around Germany. This includes various forms of living and living arrangements for elderly people as well as full and partial inpatient facilities, outpatient services and a barrier-free hotel. 2.000 convinced, compassionate and well-trained employees contribute to the company's success in all areas of the company.
A further investment volume of around 100 million euros is planned for additional locations in the coming years.

BeneVit will contribute to data collection and clinical validation across both their nursing homes facilities and ambulatory care to reach the subject recruitment targets (WP1), provide insight for software development and usability (WP3), integration and demonstration (WP4), as well as be engaged in dissemination (WP5) and project management (WP6) activities. BeneVit will commit healthcare professionals and other staff to be involved in the project activities, including also medical expertise and other support as required.
Natali Healthcare Solutions
Founded in 1988, Natali is the largest private healthcare services company in Israel, with almost 30 years of experience generating in-depth know how, providing a large variety of services to the elderly population, Tele care and Tele-medicine services, as well as Emergency Medical Services and has a division of healthcare services for school children. It is a “One Stop Shop” unbiased from the location, available resources and the challenges of the area and it provides services to a variety of customers: private subscribers, the public sector, private and public companies, and Insurance companies and institutions.
